NECCO. This is definitely OLD TIME candy! It is a strange name. Actually it’s an abbreviation standing for New England Confectionary Company. It dates back to the summer of 1847, founded by a young English immigrant, Oliver Chase. It is the oldest multi-line candy company in the United States. Yes, that’s right. Even Hershey’s, another old time candy manufacturer, wasn’t marketed until 1876.
